Oh. Wait. I guess when we are talking David that is a VERY cheap scope. But not for us normal mortals.
P.S. I wish you lived up here too.![]()
I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.
I was referring to YF: "Jesus man.... pretty sure the SWFA 10X isn't a cheap scope. I'm going to have to dislike for posting the same picture you've already bragged about. Sorry TS."
I have not seen the Savage rifle so I figured YF was referencing that it too had a 10X. I LOVE the SWFA scopes and think they are the BEST value... tough as nails, excellent repeatability, and good glass. Now SWFA does have some higher priced ones...
Cheap in price- YES Cheap in quality- NO

The SWFA fixed 10X scopes are a damn good buy. I've used a couple out past 1000 yards and had no problems with repeatability (turrets returning to zero). The glass/image is clear and quite nice considering the low cost.
SWFA makes a few different versions, MIL/MIL (mil dot reticle/MIL adjustments); MIL/MOA (mil dot reticle/MOA adjustments), rear parallax adjustment, side parallax adjustment, fixed 10x, 12x, 16x, and 20x as well as variable power.
I'd highly recommend the fixed 10x, rear parallax adjustment, MIL/MIL for $299... if you're on a budget, if not, and you don't mind an extra $100, get the side parallax adjustment at $399. Neither is necessarily "better", just design.
I've heard the 16x and 20xare not as clear... besides, 10x is quite adequate out to 1000 yards.
Hope this helps...
