Talon Range Closed 3/24/2013

We will be closed Sunday due to the weather. The roads and range are nasty. It may clear up in the afternoon, but, the ranges will still be muddy to the point we will have to stay down for the day. Soon, we will see gravel and grass and this won't be an issue.

It true, it is a mess. Had two classes out there today PLUS an RAFSU event. Musta been 300 cars (OK, a bit of an exaggeration) out there. They rutted it up to the point there is no way something without 4x4 and plenty of ground clearance could make it out there and back.


On the plus side: The road in front of Kauffman tire is very nearly completed. The bridge is in - and decked - dump trucks were hauling dirt in and raising the grade on the road all week. The range buildings have been moved on-site. The rear berm for the first several pistol ranges is sky high and the side berms are very nearly there.


[size=1em]Serious progress really is being made.[/size] If you have not yet seen the new range you are in for a real treat. It is awesome. ;D ;D

I drove out over the new bridge and back over to the range last Sunday. Wow. Man, it's like going to some kind of "Target Theme Park" or something. Progress is amazing. Feels like it's gonna pop one of these days, and then the old temporary range will become just a distant memory.

How cool is that! It will be SOOOOOOOO worth the wait.

Meanwhile, more dang rain. Oh well, we need it.
