I saw a few folks at the last match looking for something to throw at the pins. Really.

'course, truth be told, I'm not sure if they were thinking of the pins, or the course designer.
I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.

I saw someone at the last match actually throw something at the pins. It was a large speed loader if memory serves :-) Excessive recoil seemed to have affected his throwing aim.

Good question, I thought of that also since I am gonna bring my Marlin model 60 but I figured it would be like the 18 round limit with the pistols on the last shoot. Ten rounds max per shoot. Just guessing though. I'll bring the 15-22 also.

    That is easy!

    "Don't miss".

    Even Dan can't actually miss fast enough to win, so . . . . . . . .

Has someone actually shot a pin top to make sure a .22 would actually move it? It the local physics team is correct, your activity plans are seriously fucked.
How much do you think they weigh? More than a rifle?!

Wow. Now one can see the why behind what "they" say about committees.

Jafar, I have the same bolt gun. It is my Remmy 700P .308 "trainer". It works very very well for that with the right ammo.

Guys, the last time we all discussed this match in person it was agreed on "any rifle or pistol, any optic, seated, kneeling, standing, or prone as long as it is .22LR, 10-rounds per load (magazine) maximum, and it is 50 yards." I added in consultation with JD, that the pin tops will be on a railroad crosstie and they need to fall over, not be knocked completely off the tie.

Unless you mutts get you shit together and collectively put forward some other complete plan, the last discussed and collectively agreed to plan is how I will be expecting to run the match.

Remember; this match is completely 100% optional. No one is compelled in any way, shape, or form to shoot it. The pistol pin league match will run as normal.

So as not to cheat I have not shot the tops to sandbag practice. However I can step out in the back yard and shoot one to test it.
