Shot another great group today with the last 4 rounds of that load... it went .640" so I'm happy.

Nice job Bob-0. Are you going to stick with that one or continue looking for an even better recipe? I have a feeling I already know the answer.

Well... I have discovered the rifle isn't fond of the 120 A-Max and H4350 load... best it went today was 1.50". Also, the rifle ran 100% and locked back on an empty mag every time so that issued has resolved itself.

I removed/inspected the gas block and then tried a STANDARD AR15 CARBINER BUFFER (taking a chance as they are NOT the same the standard and AR10-type) and the rifle functioned 100%, so just for shits and grins, I put the factory rifle buffer back in and it continued to function 100%... so I guess maybe the gas block was not right from the factory.

As for the load... I have some 140gr A-Max to try, the difference in the SST and A-Max is the A-Max has no cannelure and a thinner jacket... the SST is more of a hunting bullet whereas the A-Max is more on the target side of things.

But I still have some W-760 to play with... for now, the 140SST and 39.0grs of IMR4007SCC is the ticket.

I like them both... but as you may or may not know, the Creedmoor is built on the AR10 frame... bigger and more weight. But I tell you what, as a newbie in the 6.5 Creedmoor, I'm impressed.

Now if I could just afford the AI in the same cal...
