Which bullet for 1/7 twist 5.56.

What bullet have you found to be the most accurate for a 16 inch 1/7 twist barrel?

I have only tried 77 gr SMK so far in my 20" 1/8 twist
These are loaded to mag length..

Others around here have more experience with diffrent loadings than I..
    They will chime in shortly..

I think that you are going to find out that heavier is better - either way. My poodle shooter destroys 55 gr FMJ bullets at the velocity I push them using a 1:7 twist.

Those 77gr SMKs Mapper mentions, in my 16" CMMG 1:7 will put those baby bullets in an eyeball size hole all day long at 200 yards. And I believe the group is that big only because my optic has a 1MOA dot.
I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.

Wow. You guys are brutal. I love it!!!

This is as good a place/time to admit it as any so here goes . . . .

I've done some more research and testing. I have come to the conclusion that both the 9MM and the .380ACP get a bad rap. They are grossly underrated as defensive cartridges.

Through testing myself I have been able to factually establish that loading either cartridge into a wrist rocket (surgical tubing slingshot) and letting it fly can indeed - quite plausibly - put someone's eye out! . . . . if they are close enough.

I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.
