Hey yall, I'm an older member used to be under the name rickschezwan but can't log in with that user name now for some reason. Anyhow I know it's slow around here and copperhead is basically dead too, what a damn shame, used to be a decent used market here been mostly on gulf coast gun forum for the last few years. Anyhow I figured I would post this up here too.
I've got a beautiful Dan Wesson model 40-V (vent rib) chambered in 357 Remington maximum, can also shoot 357 magnum, 38 special, etc. I've got original Styrofoam box with cardboard sleeve (in rough shape but it is 40 plus years old, and will be detailed in photos.) All original merchandise promo materials, unfilled rebate coupon, and owners manual, all in good shape. Gun has 8" barrel and a spare barrel from factory, sadly it is missing the barrel changing tool. There is a little finish damage from the "flame cut" however it is well documented that the dan wesson revolvers did not suffer from any mechanical damage like the Rugers did in this fashion, DW used properly heat treated metal that doesn't continue to erode beyond the blueing. (Again the photos will document the slight damage.) Also comes with 40 rounds of 158gr jhp from ammo-texas, (plus however many of the 60 brass i can locate from the rounds I've shot out of it.) I've also got 6 rounds of 115gr fmjs that are hand loads that came with the gun, it's up to the buyer if they feel like firing rounds of unknown origin, I personally did not but kept them as a novelty item. They are in a speed loader that's for a s&w model 27/8 that also fits this cylinder.
This is a hard ass hunting revolver, I've shot 3" groups with it off a sand bag at 50 yards and last summer I took it hog hunting and shot a 130ish lb sow behind the shoulder (i wanted to shoot a deer with it so wanted to see how it would preform with that shot placement as opposed to a head shot) with it at 22yds, she ran about 50 yards before expiring leaving a moderate to fair blood trail. I would not hesitate to shoot a deer with it at bow ranges.
Cash price is $1600 FTF, I'll accept gold or silver coin/bullion, or Goldbacks. I'm open to trades plus or minus cash for the right deal. Possible trade interests include but not limited to a S&W model 25-3 in 45LC, Sig Sauer p220 or 226 (has to be optics cut already) would prefer a SAO model hopefully with a threaded barrel, stribog 45APC, CMMG dissent in 308, pvs-14, thermal monocular like a sidekick or something helmet mountable, not a handheld unit. I'm interested in a nicely built fal, I don't want a project with a f@$<ed barrel or off headspace etc. Im not interested in anything built on a type 3.
