Zero effect; the gun was in a case in an annex. All the damage you're seeing came from the high concentration of acid in the smoke which super catalyzed the already dormant oxidation of the bluing process and made this ferrite based result. My life would be a lot easier if it got here sooner, but it came a long way.Originally Posted by 0utlaw
If it had been in the fire and breached the 1200-1500 mark, everything would have to be heat treated, so basically a total loss in the terms of cost and replacement value.
