    Do lee dies suck?

Do they stink or is it me? Trying to reload 308 again for the 3rd time. I always get flustered and quit when I couldn't get the chambering right before.
Then tonight I remembered the RCBS dies that I got in a trade a little while back.
Went through and it the dummy round chambered like butter first time. Now just have to shoot the first ten and make sure they make the right boom.
So far I have replaced my 9mm, 223, and now 308 dies with RCBS. Each time it has been an improvement.
Tonight I resized with the lee then did it again with the RCBS, the second time took just as much force as the first, and the case stretched just an unt hair.
No more lee dies for me.

    I've not had a problem with any Lee dies in 9, 300bo, 45acp, 8x56R, 5.56, and 30-30. Very strange.
When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it--always.

Can you take one of your sized cartridges from your rcbs 308, lube it, and run it through your lee sizing die and see if the Lee sizing die is off?

Are you using a chamber gauge to check the sized cartridges? Jim

The only brand that I've had issues with is hornady. You could lube that piece of shit with astroglide and still play hell getting the case out. Replaced it with Lee and all is good.

    I will do that.
Got chamber gauge on the way. Been using rifle chamber.
30.06 and 243 dies work fine, but the 308 gives me fits. Which is why I gave up on it several times.

Lee dies have worked ok for me on quite a few calibers.

After pulling all the 308 ammo I had loaded up, pulled the decapping pin and resized them. My sizing die must suck.
Now have 3 test loadings ready to go, they all cycle like butter. Same length, different dies. Weird.

Have you contacted Hornady about warrantying them? I recommend not sending the astroglide though because they may take it the wrong way out in Nebraska.
