But you must have pretty (proportionately) short arms.


I use the off the shelf two strap Blackhawk thigh rig worn as high as "comfortable" and in a . . .god I hate this word . . .tactical, shooting stance - weight on the balls of my feet, knees just slightly bent - my hand naturally falls right level with where I need to get a good solid shooting grip on the handgun.

No, the draw was right before, with the lower, conventional thigh rig. That wasn't the problem. The problem was introduced by motion, more specifically, the motion of a dead sprint. Like......."fuck.......where's cover?" sprint. It flopped around like a politician.
