My last week of soccer. Next week I can attend.
As far as I know I will be there.
I'm going to stop by to see Rumbler shoot pins with no light.
forgot to mention, .22 rifles, not pistols
Okay I want to try to come this week. Refresh my mind? What time do things get started? And returning folks put in how much? Only been once; don't remember the specifics. Thanks.
I should be able to make it this week. Any heads-up on the 22 rifle COF?
7 PM starts the match, 10 bucks to shoot the main match, 5 for the fun match.
The 22 COF is standing or kneeling at the top row of .22 spinner targets, 8 rounds per magazine (or the highest capacity of the lowest capacity gun there). I forgot the distance, 30 or 50 yards?
I'll be bringing my red dot equipped .22 SBR, so that should be fun.
Hey Tack bring your pimp gun and see if it will turn over a pin
What do yall use to shoot pins?
Large caliber semi auto handguns, mostly .45 ACP, a few 10mm. Nothing over 44 mag. Use 9mm at your own peril,
Ive never shot pins, how do they react to bullets at pistol velocities, do they penetrate or bounce off, and how far are they when you shoot them? My friends dad used to shoot bowling pin matches and would show us his tricked out 1911 he ran in the competitions, I remember you could make the hammer drop if you blew on the trigger, had to hold the trigger back when you racked the slide and just let go when you were ready to shoot and hold on. Ive wanted to give it a try but the only pistols Ive got are my 9mm PT-92 and a glock 27 .40. i guess either one would make it a challange.
The glock would do alright. 40 is really the smallest caliber I'd use. as far as the pins go, if you get a straight on shot to the thick part of the pin in the middle, the bullets usually get stuck, unless you're using Rumbler hot 10mm loads. anything to the sides usually penetrate through. problem is, throughout the match, as the pins get shot, they get heavy and deformed, and that's where 9mm starts to really suffer.
the match is done from 25 feet away, with the pins on the front edge of a 4x4 table, pins have to be knocked off the table. Match is a heads up drag race, first of the 2 people to clear their table wins. 6 rounds in your magazines, have as many as you want, match starts loaded at the low ready.
Capt. Mike, I should be there tonight. You are welcome to use my 1911 if you like, as long as you don't throw it. Jim
Capt Mike if you do not wish to shoot at least come out and see how the match is shot. You will probably like it
Does my AK pistol count?
I wanted to make it but can't. Here's hoping to next week.
Me too. I had planned on it but I wound up at the shop working on the tractor and the lathe all day. I'm spent. :(
Yes Tack I agree with you all of your guns are pimp guns being that you are a pygmy pimp.
Hey I'm new around here and Kyle from Talon told me about the Bowling pin shoot. I was thinking about coming this thursday. What should I bring in terms of ammo, holster etc., and when do I need to be there? I've got a .45 to shoot
Dude I think your a couple days too late for this one lol
Make sure you do your Talon safety stuff online too
Lighting hasnt been a problem yet
