All, the hosting company did some work on the power system at the datacenter which caused the server we are on to reboot. Things didn't come back up cleanly and required a little coercion to start back up. Should be good enough at the moment.

I've really got to find an external system that will send me alerts when this shit is down. Tackdriver is busy doing other things so I don't get texts from him when the site is down.
