But I do strongly suggest ammo in the mag limits. Folks need to be able to shoot single shot bolt guns and at least almost be competitive.
Agree... Jim

Ill be there for the .22 match if im not working.
A form member has a american 180 along wiith several 177 round magazines . With that rifle you might just be able to miss fast enough to win!
Let's have a match where we find rocks on the ground and throw them, then no mag limit arguments ;)
One thing you have to consider is people using 22s that have a tubleler mag ! what are they going to do for speed loading
Is .17 hmr acceptable? Its a smaller bullet, should be harder, right?
Wow. Now one can see the why behind what "they" say about committees.
Jafar, I have the same bolt gun. It is my Remmy 700P .308 "trainer". It works very very well for that with the right ammo.
Guys, the last time we all discussed this match in person it was agreed on "any rifle or pistol, any optic, seated, kneeling, standing, or prone as long as it is .22LR, 10-rounds per load (magazine) maximum, and it is 50 yards." I added in consultation with JD, that the pin tops will be on a railroad crosstie and they need to fall over, not be knocked completely off the tie.
Unless you mutts get you shit together and collectively put forward some other complete plan, the last discussed and collectively agreed to plan is how I will be expecting to run the match.
Remember; this match is completely 100% optional. No one is compelled in any way, shape, or form to shoot it. The pistol pin league match will run as normal. :)
So as not to cheat I have not shot the tops to sandbag practice. However I can step out in the back yard and shoot one to test it.
No kidding, Doc. Meeeeee too.
Not without a lab coat, that's what makes it science
Too late. I set up 2 pins at 50 yards and shot 1 shot each. They did cartwheels. No worries. To hot for the Bill Nye coats and shit.
Junk science :nope:
I agree Rumbler he is not normal,no lab coat, how do we know that his experiment was legentimate!
How much do they weigh Doc?
Did the .22s penetrate and stay in?
I shot .40 grain blazers. 50 yards, standing. Never claimed to be normal. Normal people freak me out. Be glad to demonstrate the results again on Thursday. But to be fair to you guys we should really move the shoot out to 100 :-) I'm not as good as you guys at pistols but I shoot the shit outta .22s every weekend. It's affordable and shit. There, the gauntlet is down! Lab coats are optional. I'll bring some shotgun hulls to spice it up at 50 if ya'll want to step up lol.
Without a lab coat that is just an estimate
I don't remember the any position discussion. I thought we were discussing standing offhand. Thats why I said it earlier. If you go any other position - will you allow rests, bipods, lead sleds, other fixed and or gyroscopicially stablized mounts? Are you going to match up pistols against rifles? My view on this (your mileage will vary) was that we were going to test the skill of the shooter not the expense of the equipment. There is nothing like shooting offhand to test your metal. It is the great equalizer since few people practice it. Jim
I still vote for all positions but no lead sleds, etc. standing kneeling sitting and prone.
Jim, you missed the following weeks discussion.
The attempt was to make it more inclusive. You know some of the old farts shake like a leaf (including me).
It was my personal thought that the time lost moving rests, restabilizing gyroscopes, from pin top to pin top would more than likely offset any advantage in using them to compete against a shooter who chose an unsupported standing position (or the like).
But - and I really mean this - it don't matter to me if I personally like the match or not. This is all about you guys. Like I said earlier; you guys workout an alternative complete plan and I'll run it that way.
. . and enjoy the seemingly inevitable fistfight you all get into during the process. :nyahnyah:
Me and Doc already got a side match . . . . for the side match.
Hopefully I'll have time to sight my shit at 200 prior to the match. However I'll damn sure show and shoot sir. I love that shit. Long range with the .22 is a blast to me.
Military precision:
Measure with a mic
Mark it with chalk
Cut it with an axe
You miss my point. Some of us like watching you old folks shake... And its about the most excitement you guys get being as old as you are... Short of popping the little blue pill, but then you couldn't shoot prone anyway. Well, maybe it wouldnt make a difference with you guys anyway. ;)
