The batteries rest directly on it. Repeated pounding on the bottom of the board will damage it. That's interesting. Thanks for posting that. I hadn't planned on mounting it but that erases that thought from my mind.
There are plenty of mall ninjas that have had these mounted on ARs since they came out, FWIW.
Mine will serve on an ar or ak.
