Barrel costs and options?
Barrel Cost.
1/8 twist see first post
1/7 twist see first post
These are the same barrels (M4 profile 16") as the uppers. No stainless option.
Who makes the barrels, respond from White River Armory is:
As for the barrels, we have a national company make them for us to our specifications.
A couple of questions please:
What is the advantage of getting the 1/8 twist over the 1/7?
What are the reasons to spring for the stainless barrel?
What is the price/make for the BCG and CH if purchased with the upper?
When is the deadline to order?
Thanks.
I did a bit of looking around and came up with the following:
1/7 twist better for heavy subsonic and 1/8 more accurate for lighter projectiles.
Stainless more accurate but give up some service life of the barrel.
This internet thing is gonna be big - mark my words.
<<<<<< is not a expert. It's been my experience that 1 in 8 Is good up to 220 grain. The Berger 230 and Sierra 240 seem to do better in 1 in 7. The most accurate bullets that I've found are the barnes 110 grain tac-tx fb followed by the Sierra 125 grain pro hunter. I find this to be true in both my ARs and bolt guns.Naturally the barnes made for the BLK is expensive and hard to find.
Ok if Im going over to the dark side at least I wont be alone. Ill be waiting for more pics and Data
