I haven’t, but am intrigued. Gonna start loading that myself. Like I need another damn caliber to load.
I’ve been loading subs but mostly plinking loads. Happy to share my experiences if it helps. I’ve been interested in those particular pills but I haven’t gotten around to purchasing any.
I’ve used 6.2 grains of trailboss and the sierra 125 grain game king in three different bolt guns and have gotten very tight groups in all three. It won’t cycle an ar but it’s the cats meow in a bolt gun.
I've mainly been using IMR-4227 for my subs. Here the closest load I have to that Lehigh:
Platform: AR-15
Barrel Length: 9.5"
Bullet: Hornady 208 gr A-Max
Powder: 9.4 gr of 4227
Primer: CCI 400
Avg FPS: 1030
This will cycle, eject, and bolt hold open without a can.
I've got a bottle of Trailboss I've been itching to try out in my 300 Blk Handi rifle but I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet.
A 220 grain Sierra MKHP over 11 grains of AA 1680 with a 7 1/2 Remington primer runs around 1020 fps in my 16 inch AR. It functions as it should either supressed or un supressed. I ran out of the 220 grain MKHP but had some 220 grain sierra pro hunters which are round nose bullets. I gave them a try with the same load and they much to my suprise ran as well as the MKHP in my rifle. The point of impact was close enough at 75 yards that I didn't have to rezero the rifle. The pro hunters are considerably less expensive than the MKHP and perform about the same at ranges of 100 yards and under.
What was your COL for the prohunter load?
2.098 is what I'm using at the present time.
I got around to trying the Lehigh 194 grain bullets , they work as advertised. Full expansion on the three That I recovered.
What are you shooting into to check the expansion? I have been working on developing a good hunting load for supers and subs, but don’t have a good way to test them for expansion.
