    Anyone reload shotgun

Does anyone here reload shotguns? Me and a buddy were talking about reloading for 12 gauge since he shoots skeet so much. And I figured I would get yalls opinion?

As cheap as skeet shells are there is no way in hell it would be worth it, especially what powder is going for.

I gave up loading for shotguns... with powder prices they way they are AND lead shot being as high as it is... not worth it for recreational shooting or hunting. Serious competition... that's another thing...

Reason I was wondering is because if you can make your own bird shot it would knock down costs then instead of loading 1 1/8oz only load 1oz or 7/8oz. That way you are reducing your powder and also shot you use. I have been reading about it for 3 gun and also my buddy shoots clays a lot. So we were both thinking about going in on a MEC600 jr and then maybe making our own shot. So your costs are really just wads, primers and powder.

I have loaded about 20,000 rounds of 12 gauge for my Bunker/Olympic Trap shooter this year. I bought 25K primers in January 2014, and I have 4 full and 1 open boxes left.

You cannot make shot cost effectively, especially quality round, treated shot. Right now lead is about 2 bucks a pound shipped. My last delivery cost $102.97 for 50 lbs.

A MEC 600 Jr is a good setup if you are only going to load a few boxes at a time. You have to pull the handle 6 times to complete 1 shell. Very time consuming. I have a MEC 9000 and after it is set up, each pull completes a shell. I can load a flat in about 30 minutes

Sometimes you meet someone, and you know from that very first moment, You want to spend the rest of your life without them
