    22tcm reloads

it is diffrent, it sizes like rifle brass, sort of.. meaning it has to be lubed, but the dies have to touch the shellholder, so none of the "I'll bump the shoulder back 0.002" rules apply, as most of the sizing happens near the base of the case.

The plunk test passed in the rifle and pistol, so dies are set up.

The rest of the load is just like pistol, I'm using hornady dies, but not using the expander die as it does nothing beneficial,
For a powder die I'm using a rifle charge die with a 45 acp insert from lee, autodisc sets on top of that to dispense powder,

The projectiles are 40 gr flat base hornet bullets, and need to be lined up pretty good when seating, or the case gets mangled

A chamfer on the case mouth would seem to help, I'll try that sometime.

I read a lot of places about powder and charge weights, and everything I saw pointed to about 10.8-11.1 gr of h 110, I saw some loaded to 11.8 with chrono data, and pictures of cases, and it did not exhibit the pressure spike that h110 is known to have at max+ loads

The chrono data was still lenear, so I'm trying 10.8 gr to start,

I haven't shot these yet, but I'll list chrono data when I do.
It ought to be a cheap little round to load, about the same as a 45 acp.

This your last warning! Stop posting meaningful and useful information about reloading and gun related topics.

Some of us bank on that h-110 pressure spike.

I will be interested to see what chrono numbers turn out to be, a 40gr bullet at 8000 FPS could be pretty interesting.
I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.

    Mapper,

You got me wondering if I ever want to try and reload for my 22TCM. Sounds way to complicated for an old man. And now Rumbler talks about 8,000 FPS. Just joking! Thanks for the meaningful information and specifics. If and when I decide to try this caliber you will be the first one I call for advise.

11gr of h110 gave same velocity as factory ammo, 2800 in rifle, 1950 in pistol.
ill try a small pistol primer as with the srm primers I was having ignition problems
    Probabally due to cup thickness.
    Still a work in progress.

In my kimber 22 hornet I have to use Remington 6 1/2 primers . They are far softer than the 7 1/2 magnum Remington and give reliable ignition every time .

Good info. Use the expander die to open the case mouth a bit. That will keep the case from getting mangled. Chamfering may work but the short bullet will be hard to keep centered.

Hornady die set expander is same size as sizing die, does not bell the case. No go on the powder die as it is 45 acp.(lee)

Tried it both ways. Ended up not using hornady expander as it caused more problems than it solved.
