A man points a gun at your head pulls the trigger and you lightly slap at him...

..... then just stand there???? Its fight or flight, not stand there and piss your pants. Of course the party name on the banners gave me a little chuckle.

The attempted assassin is probably having a bad week after that.

Wow. I wonder if they realize what it says on the wall behind them. That's nasty!

I think the BG tried to shoot him but the slide wasn't racked or it never cocked (probably a Taurus, LOL).

Amazing to see how those "pacifists" kicked the shit out of the guy...

Video shows the man pointing a gas pistol at the head of Dogan, who grappled with him, according to Bulgaria State News (BTA).

From what I have been reading, they are lethal at very close range.

What I got a laugh out of was;

Dogan, who grappled with him
;D ;D I think they a being a little generous. ;D ;D

OK, I think the bad guy tried to shoot him, but the GAS PISTOL wasn't gassified, pre-primed, readied, prepared, on standby, etc. Must have been a Taurus... (gas model) LOL... ;D

Actually they were all leaders of the ethnic Turk party in Bulgaria and maybe I've missed something... but I don't think there are any pacifist Turks, anywhere! I get the idea that they are more like commie Cajuns, to give a quasi-U.S. frame of reference. :-* Here's one professed ethnic Bulgarian's comments on the "soup opera":
SoberThinkera day agoHi, I am an ethnic Bulgarian that lives in a region among ethnic Turks and I want to shed some light on this assassination attempt, because from abroad it might see like one, but it really is a badly orchestrated soup opera.
First some history:
MRF is basically an ethnic party, which is anti-constitutional, but yet, it
still exists. Its leaders are entirely comprised of Ex-Secret Service agents
(i.e. commies), including the man of the hour - Ahmet Dogan (some have entries
in Wikipedia). Ahmet Dogan is the sole leader of the party for 23 years. He is
quite discredited, and no other party wants to form coalitions with his party,
because he is associated with numerous crimes. Ethnic Turks vote entirely for
this party, like 99.9%, so its place in the Bulgarian Parliament is guaranteed.
Anyway, yesterday it was the night that he would step down, allegedly. But in
order to come clean somehow, something has to be done.
So here are the facts so far:
- The assassin is an ethnic Turk, member of MRF, and is a criminal - has a history of drug-dealing, resisting arrest, etc. - why he is not in prison is another enigma. He has no record of mental disability. Please note that the assassin’s brother has won a big nation-wide contest (something like America Got Talent) just a month ago,
no need for ethnic scare.
- The weapon is a gas pistol, with no clip. After the fight, 3 'bullets' were found - two blanks and one filled with pepper (used to scare animals).
- Although Ahmet Dogan has been assigned a special detail from the National Security Service, on this day, they were refused access to the hall. Some other security firm was hired for the task. Also no weapons search and no weapons scanner was utilized on entry (first time).
- Immediately after the fight, the man that should replace Ahmet Dogan, publicly made a speech, with calm voice, and no stutter, accusing the Bulgarians for this, basically playing the race card ( and he is not shaken by the event, and has a prepared speech already). This should be a punishable crime, but no one cared.
- After the assassin has fallen and apprehended by security, MRF members tried to lynch him, by kicking him and trying to pull his pants down (probably a cultural thing) - watch the video. Basically these MRF members made the job of the security team very hard. Today, the lead prosecutor (Kokinov) said that they will not be charged with attempt to harm and hindering security - although there is a video that
clearly shows that those men act as berserks, not as political representatives.
So, viewed from abroad, all this is quite embarrassing for Bulgaria. Instead of being
prosecuted for damaging the image of the country, those political figures will
probably be put in Parliament again (it is an election year in Bulgaria). The
assassin himself is now charged with hooligan actions (up to 5 years in
prison), because it was made clear by experts that his intent was not to kill.
In the end, it may look like an assassination, but it is not. It is a shameful event, and the actors are very bad.
