But wait...should we "really" let H&R bring it back?

I've not read why Cerberus is shutting the line down. The wording of the notice was that H&R wouldn't make them any more, it wouldn't shock me if they re-branded under one of their other names.
When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it--always.

They are a hell of a deal. I bought two of them in 300 BLK for Christmas presents . I like the little rifles so much I ordered one for myself. They come threaded 5/8 x 24 with a thread protector and a scope rail . They will make a hell of a truck / walk around the property gun in my opinion.

I've got an H&R .58 muzzleloader that I bought when I was a teen in 1976. Purchased it at Jackson's Gun Shop... the hole in the wall shop that was on the exterior/south end of the then-Northwood Mall. It pretty much looks just like every other H&R single shot out there.

I'd bet someone picks up the line under another brand name, unless it's just not profitable to make them. It's hard for me to see how they wouldn't be profitable, though, if Mossberg and Marlin can sell their entry level bolt action rifles for not much more than these H&R single shot rifles.
