    300 BLK with a DIllon 550/650

It has been gnawing at me that Dillon, at least in their newest Blue Press, still does not offer a caliber conversion kit for the 550B or the 650XL.

    So I called them today.

I'll be darned. Turns out that they DO.

It is a .223 kit with one of two different powder funnels depending on whether you want to load jacket bullets or lead/plated.

If you already have a .223 caliber conversion kit and 300BLK dies, all you need to buy is the appropriate powder funnel, which ARE available individually.

Oh, and if you happen to use a optional case feeder you will want to order the "small rifle" plate.

i didn't order the plate because I have not yet decided whether to use the 550B (no case feeder) or the 650XL.

But I will do my best to remember to post the part numbers for the two funnels as soon as they get here.
I'd rather be lucky than good, but I'd rather KNOW I'm good than HOPE to get lucky.

13564 is the powder funnel for the lead/plated bullets. It is actually the same one used for the .30 carbine. It bells the case mouth.
13015 is the one for the jacketed bullets. At least the boat tail ones. It fits over the case neck and does NOT flare it. Interestingly, it says on the package it is also the one for the 7.62x39 ("AK") cartridge.

As I am sure you know, there is a dang difference between .308 and .311. Apparently Dillon figures the case neck thickness is sufficient to keep the powder from "missing" the .308 case. Time will tell, for sure.

I know a lot of people were using the 7.62x39 powder funnel long before the 300 blackout one came available. I wish I would've known that and I would told you about it.

I turned a custom one for the jacketed bullets but will definitely buy the one that flairs the cases for lead bullets. Thanks for the information Mike.
