Never heard mutton refer to goats. Only sheep.

Like the expression "Mutton disguised as lamb"
None can love freedom heartily, but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license.
    --John Milton

Only digging in on the position of the truth – yes, I defend guns because guns are useful for killing criminals and tyrants – is going to be successful. Only the truth shall set you free.

I was brought up thinking a mutton was a young sheep. Never heard it used for goats.

It's called The Animal Fair, a nursery rhyme. Apparently, it became widely known during the 1898 World's Fair. The lyrics morphed over time, and regionally, and it was taught to more recent generations via Captain Kangaroo and Barney. (undoubtedly without the drunk monkeys). There are dozens of versions of it on YouTube.

Seadog - Thanks for sharing the memory!

Rumbler - glad to hear the treatments are getting underway! The only way to see the light at the end of a tunnel you need to pass through, is to get the journey started.

Keep your chin up old man. You've been in other fights for your life, no reason this can't go your way also.
You gonna bark all day little doggy or you gonna bite?
