The closest the day gets, the more umprepared I feel. For those who are attending anf for those who had taken this or a similar class, what would be the ideal load out in terms of equipment/tools/clothing. I have an Idea, but I keep second guessing myself. I really don't want to be unprepare. Thanks in advance.

He has a recommended gear list:

Weapon & Gear Class Requirements:
- Carbine/Rifle of minimum 5.45 / 5.56 caliber
- Sling
- Minimum of 3 carbine/rifle magazines
- Serviceable duty grade handgun of at least 9mm Para caliber
- Minimum of 3 pistol magazines
- Serviceable holster
- Minimum 2 pistol magazine pouches
- Eye and ear protection
- Suitable range wear depending on the season
- Weapon cleaning & lubrication supplies
- Good attitude

Maybe some knee pads and a chest rig to round that out, if you think you need them.

Whatever you bring, be prepared to be in it all day with the possibility of a lot of movement.

Dress rehearse. Train how you would fight.

If you are unprepared, you will know for sure once the class is done.

Duty belt with places for 3 or 4 or pistol and rifle.
Will bring a chest rig, but I don't know if I will use it.
Truck load of ammo, guns, and snacks.
Probably carry pistol in Mule rig or dropped offset.

I think I've decided to run the AK in this little soiree. Anyone else running something other than a M16/M4 gun?

Also, load some mags up beforehand. That way you can listen while instead of loading all the time.
And dump all 20 round boxes into an ammo can.
What is the food situation like? As in where we gonna eat or is it lunch on the ground.

The road is fine even when it rains.

GO SLOW.... YOU WILL NOT GET STUCK... DO NOT RUN THROUGH THE WATER PUDDLES AS YOU WILL ONLY MAKE UNNECESSARY RUTS. Even after much more significant storms than what is coming, the road ahs always been good to go... it might look bad but it is good.

You'll obviously never dealt with a rental car agency on an insurance claim. Trust me you don't want to. 1/2" hole in plastic rear bumper, $1000.

The additional insurance on a rental car is the only way to fly. For about $30 per day you can beat the living fuck out of the car.

Dale, have you actually ever had a claim?

I bought airline tickets, rental car, trip and car insurance online at Travelocity. After the fact I find out the insurance is with a third party not Enterprise. It was a major cluster, and they aren't real forth coming with any of that on the front end.

Yes. I turned the car in and walked away. But I didn't buy third party insurance.

When you rent a car you are responsible for anything that happens to it. If you return it with a ding you have to pay to fix the ding and pay for the time the vehicle is out of service waiting for the ding to be repaired. Often your auto insurance covers this, however its a major PITA because (as you found out) they want the money NOW.

When I rent its mostly from Hertz, they are self insured and there car coverage is a waiver not insurance so it waves your responsibility to the repair/damage, you just walk away.

I found out a few years ago a couple of reasons why they self insure.

#1. They make a big profit they don't have to share.
#2. They pay to fix the cars themselves, and ergo nothing ever gets put into CarFax.
