It is with great sadness that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office announces the passing of Lt. Jonnathan Riley, 40, of Carrabelle, Florida. Lt. Riley passed away last night after suffering from an unexpected bleeding on the brain. Lt. Riley was well respected among his peers and in his community and his death has left a community grieving at the sudden loss of a fine, young man.

Lt. Riley leaves behind a wife, Darlene, a teenaged son (Jonny) and a young teenaged daughter (Casey). He has over 14 years with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and also served the City of Carrabelle as a Police Officer.

We will release details of the arrangements when we receive them. We thank you in advance for your prayers for his family and his Law Enforcement family. Rumbler I had that samething happen to me inn 09,i was between Blountstown and hwy231.Just happens all of a sudden with no warning.I was very lucky,this young man was not so lucky I hate it for his family.
