View Full Version : Abby Fundraiser v.2.0

Rumbler
August 11th, 2014, 06:46 PM
First, many genuine thanks to all the generosity shown by you guys toward helping Abby pursue her goal.

You have done better than you know . . . .

Yankee, Mapper, Jewban - all decided that should they win the 650 Rounds of Federal Match 22LR ammo should be auctioned off here on the forum with the proceeds going to Abby.

Yeah. That is very cool indeed. :coolguy:

Knowing that some folks only get paid monthly it seems most logical to run the raffle until 9/1/2014 at MIDNIGHT.

All bids should be made here - in this thread - for the sake of transparency and ease of tracking.

So . . . belly up to the mouse guys and let the bidding war begin!

Bump.

Yup. This is going to keep happening until you either shoot me, or fill this thread with bids.

Please remember this is about helping a young lady achieve her very honorable goals, not about getting a good deal on some .22 ammo.

. . . pretty please . . . :dammit:

Mapper just donated a THIRD 325 round "brick" of the same ammo to this event. Total round count now is . . . . a whole dang bunch!!

mapper
August 12th, 2014, 09:22 PM
325 rds per box..
Federal automatch is one of my "go to" ammos, along with cci standard velocity..
If functions well in my semi auto pistols..they are setup for standard velocity.
40 gr, lead, loaded at 1200 fps..

Remember this is a Fundraiser to help Abby..that's why I'm donating a box..
The ammo is good, and well folks know what it is going for on gunbot..

Like I said before..it is not about the ammo to me..
It is about helping a young shooter pursue a goal, and giving a little back to the next generation..
As well as making a statement that we are proud of her acclomplishments and support her pursuits..

Rumbler, can you revise the first post to reflect the round count ?

mapper
August 12th, 2014, 09:44 PM
Alrighty now....it should get interesting.
1300 rds of the same brand of ammo...

Remember it is a fundraiser folks....
Let's help Abby out....

Thanks Ike!

If we reach $200, winner of the auction will be able to choose 1 picture (within reason, you dirty bastards) to put as an "icon" over their choice of user for 1 month.

That's right, you can shame someone for an entire month with a picture of your choosing! Tack won't be able to rig the vote for it (I kid, I kid).

If we break $300, you get your very own subforum for at least a year (If I remember to delete it afterwards). You get to name it and you get to pick where in the list it goes. Once the time is up, we'll move the posts to the Shack for safe keeping.

If y'all really impress me with where this ends up, I might have to do something even fancier.

Here. Lets sweeten the pot a little courtesy of "Downrange". In the form of a brand new never fired before Mossberg 702 Plinkster semi-automatic rifle. Complete with all the factory stuff AND a nice soft rifle case.

I'm going to do some checking, or you can PM me if you already know for certain, but I believe that an FFL will be required to handle the transfer to the winner.

Many many thanks to all who are helping with this very worthwhile effort. You guys are the greatest !!!!!!!!

Some of you may have noticed that StealthGear (the holster makers) just created an account here.

Well, I contacted them and pointed Tyler to this thread. He thinks it's a great idea and a great cause, and has graciously donated one hybrid IWB holster, firearm of your choice, to the pot.

That's 1300 rounds of .22, a Mossberg 702, AND a StealthGear IWB Hybrid Holster.

For anyone that isn't familiar with them yet - http://www.stealthgearusa.com/

Someone is getting one HELL of a package here!!!

Get your bids in gentlemen, as I understand it, you only have six days left.

Just asking, not even suggesting.

JMW4570
August 27th, 2014, 10:56 AM
It doesn't matter to me even though I am high bidder now. If splitting it up would yield a higher return for Abby, that's what is important. If you want to split it up in $100-$150 street value increments that's fine with me but you cheap a?? sumb!ches better step up and bid for this stuff instead of spending your keyboard time making fun of each others lineage. (Combine some 22 with the holster, Combine some 22 with the rifle, Combine some 22/9 with the cheek pad) and put a week timeframe on them and stagger them by a couple days.

In the meantime I'll raise my bid to $400. Jim

But at this point I am very concerned about splitting this stuff up. For better or worse, something inside tells me that just simply would not be fair to those who have bid thus far. Whether they would complain about it or not.

Many thanks to the Noose family. Your contribution to the future of shooting sports, and this darling young lady specifically is substantial, and deserves recognition far beyond the capabilities afforded by this medium. In fact, every person who has contributed to this event deserves thanks. You all truly are what makes America special.

Now that your toast is nice and buttered . . . . Noose I am going to ask Abby's dad (bumblebee) to get with you via PM for you two to work out the logistics. I'm sure a photo op will be part of the plan - who wouldn't want a photo taken with an honest-to-goodness national champion and serious olympic contender !?!?
