In today’s tough economy and intense political climate I believe there is one thing we can all agree on: each and every day the brave men and women of law enforcement put themselves in harm’s way to serve and protect our communities and way of life. With this in mind, I humbly ask you to take a moment to read this post and consider giving something back to those that have given so much.

The Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy’s Basic Recruit Class 396 will host a 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Florida Fallen Officer Scholarship. This event will be held on the campus of Tallahassee Community College on November 10, 2012 at 9:00 am with sign-in and registration beginning at 8:00 am. A family event, activities will be provided for children of all ages.

The Florida Fallen Officer Scholarship was established by PTLEA Basic Recruit Class 396 to honor all of Florida’s law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their communities. The scholarship will help support children of fallen officers who wish to pursue a career as sworn law enforcement officers in Florida. Recipients will be given financial support to attend the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy.

Anyone unable to attend the event can still support this worthy cause by making a donation. Even the smallest of amounts can make a large difference in someone’s life.

Race information, online registration, and donations can be made at http://www.runsignup.com/FFOS. Questions regarding the event may be directed to FLFallenOfficerScholarship@gmail.com.

Please consider contributing to the Florida Fallen Officer Scholarship and show the men and women of law enforcement how much they are appreciated. Feel free to share and forward this message for all to see.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and contributions.
