May be helpful but I don't think it's required, a mag holder will be very helpful as there is a mandatory reload on 3 of the 4 stages

Also, she said something along the lines of: "He wants me to compete in the women's class cause then he won't have to be outshot by a girl."

I believe that george told me it was 5" or less barrels in semi auto, 4" or less in wheelguns

even though it said double action, i don't think it would disqualify if you showed up with a 1911..
or a sig 226, caliber was 38 spec or larger, so 38's, 9's, 40's, 45's..etc,

a wheelgun with a hammer would have to be fired in double action mode though.

but it would not hurt to check.on the things you have questions about. holsters he said were just for presentation.. looks like they may be needed per the rule book I linked below..

and yes it sounds fun, and a good showing would allow more NRA events at the range..

He's trying......
Yes more than 1personal invitation was given...
It will be a good thing to have NRA events there.
And it,s good when a local shop gives back to the community.
It will be fun.

I'm going to do a run what ya brung thing.. a 5" 1911 should work ok.

I just spoke to mr worthington,
5" +/- pistols are fine..
single action pistols are fine
4" revolvers are fine
a 6" would be ok if you are 70..
emphasis on saftey
either holster or start at low ready

the idea is to get folks out to shoot..
and there will be a prize table..

mapper
February 5th, 2014, 07:47 PM
jafar, run what ya brung...
single or double or striker fired
revolver or pistol

it is a b 27 target, so it should be big enough to hit..
it is a sanctioned event,

Signed up today. Now to practice shooting left handed...
Ah are they doing the strong hand, weak hand shooting thing?im not bad at that,I'm an awkward shooter.i draw right handed but aim with left eye or both eyes open once I get on target and have to swing gun around. So I think I'm better at one handed left handed shooting(if that makes sense)

Jmoorewar
February 6th, 2014, 03:37 PM
Im definitely curious about this and more competitions. I might try to stop by and check it out.
Do the uspsa at talon,I've only done one because of work but it was fun as hell and I learned a lot.

Anyone on here get a new pistol there today?

Bodo
February 15th, 2014, 11:55 PM
Practice and I need a 'longer' pistol. The subcompact just doesn't cut it.

Also, need to determine if I'm causing the gun to shoot left or if it's sighted in that way...

What gun?

Bodo
February 16th, 2014, 12:45 AM
Sig P250sc 9mm

I haven't really shot it much. This is the first time I've spent real time with it. Just tends to shoot to the Right. Not left like I said before. Definitely Right.

One of the RSO's (and 0317) said it might be because of how much finger I have on the trigger?

YankeeFingergasm
February 16th, 2014, 12:52 AM
Could also be because of the heavy trigger pull on that gun? I had one in 40 and I couldn't imagine shooting a competition with it.

AB
February 16th, 2014, 08:50 AM
Not enough finger on the trigger usually results in the shooter pushing the shots to their weak side. If you are a left handed shooter, it's a possibility. If not, then I might look to something else. I have found very few factory pistols that needed their sights tweaked, but they do exist!

Jmoorewar
February 16th, 2014, 09:57 AM
Yea those are cool guns but I've felt there double action trigger and prolly not the best choice for a competition.

0utlaw
February 16th, 2014, 10:08 AM
For the most part everyone did run true "service pistols" no real race guns or target type guns. I'm sure some may have been tweaked but nothing really out there.

Bodo
February 16th, 2014, 10:24 AM
I did fine. Not great but OK for a first timer with a subcompact pistol. Scored a 370-3X.
Large group right of the center. If I had been able to move that group on the second target about 8 inches to the left it would have been awesome...

Rumbler
February 16th, 2014, 12:10 PM
Put a little less finger on the trigger. Chances are disproportionately high that will fix your left right thing.
