Anybody reload for their M1, and know of any good safe loads for it?
I have a recent-ish issue of handloader magazine that has some good info, but if anyone has any experience with this, that would help me.
I think the latest Hornady reloading guide has a page on it, if so can someone scan or take a picture of that for me? I have the next-to-latest hornady book, the lee guide, and the 50th lyman and their isn't anything specific in those that I have found.
thanks!
EDIT:
In the past I have loaded 150 grain bullets over H4895 staying near the starting load, it cycled just fine, but didn't group as well as PPU Garand ammo
I also just stumbled across this:

Reloading rifle ammo is something I just have never had the patience for!

I started with .223, and loaded a bit of it before realizing that factory ammo is cheap enough that it isn't worth the time.
Now I mostly load and cast for .38/.357, and for 8mm mauser, .303 british, and .30 carbine when I want to shoot those.
I think I have put at least 1500 of my handloads through that service six you sold me!

I recommend using military primers to reduce the chance of slam fire. For powder, IMR 4895 is kind of the standard. I'll check some of my manuals and get back to with other options...

The 9th edition Hornady book has M1 Garand 150gr FMJ loads using Varget and H335. Sierra recommends IMR4895 and IMR 4064 with their bullets.
Here's a scan from Hornady:

I'll give you a good deal if you need any powder/primers/bullets.

Have you done any looking on the CMP forums? I would think the wealth of information would probably be worthy of a look.
And if I were reloading for my garand, I would have an adjustable gas plug installed so that I did not incur undue risk for the op rod.

Loaded some up and took them to the range this weekend, used the Hornady data, the fmjs are Hornady 150 grain boat tails, and the red tips are 168 grain A-max, both were pretty accurate and reliable.

you can reload for maximum velocity and power, or you can reload for accuracy. On my Remington 760, I found that the start load was fantastically accurate. Click on agree button.
