View Full Version : Issues with forum registration

I was informed by Ceddie that there seemed to be an issue with registering accounts on the forum.
This was due to changes implemented by vBulletin in their human verification system. I've now made the necessary changes and we are trying out a new human verification system. Now you just need to check a box instead of assembling a picture. We'll see how effective it is at keeping out the bots.
Thanks for the heads up, Ceddie!
Also wanted to give an apology to those who have tried to register but have been unable. I do hate missing things like that and causing issues.

Is anyone else experiencing slow typing? I start into a post and after a short time the text isn't keeping up with the keys (and I'm not a fast typist) and then shortly after that it starts missing keystrokes.

Yes AB, and this forum is the only place it happens.
Try posting a pic. Takes 10 minutes to upload.
It all started after the V Bulletin update a month or 2 back.

Well, now that I've actually heard that something was wrong...
What browsers are exhibiting the issue?

The problem doesn't manifest 100% of the time, but it does seem to get worse the longer I type out a single reply. It was so bad this morning I didn't post a few thoughts I had, but it seems to be working fine right now. Don't know what the cause is but it's not reliably repeatable.

I'm able to get it to repeat. I see the exact symptoms that are happening. Will look into it. It has something to do with the page not fully loading.

It also looks like the issue is primarily with Internet Explorer when you click the "Reply With Quote" button.

Looks like the issue is with the "WYSIWYG" editor, so I've disabled that until I'm able to figure out if there's a fix out there for it. You should be able to reply as you have been, it just won't look as pretty in the editing window.

Yeah, that's what I suspect the problem to be too! ;)

The only problems I ever have with this site are with the mobile version. What I click vs what the mobile site thinks I clicked are never remotely close.

Is this why I can't ctrl V to paste a picture now?

Can't pm pics that aren't somewhere else on the web? Gotta upload my shit to some 3rd party shit before I can link it here? What kind of shit is this? Won't even let me load pics to a pm from my phone anymore. WTF, my man?

Actually, if you read post #15 on the thread, I say exactly what the issue is. They've had issues with their editor on and off for a good couple of years. They've also refused to update it.

I haven't got anything specific to kvetch about today so this is just a generic gripe. Please respond with generic... whatever.
