Abby, due to her Bronze Medal Finish at the Junior National Championship, was invited to compete in the Italian Cup Championship Aug., 21 - 23, In Todi, Ita, and the Umbria Cup Trap event Aug., 26 - 27.

Both of these events are open events and some of the best shooters in the world will be competing. It is a great opportunity for Abby to see where she has to concentrate her training to compete in the future with these shooters.

Abby finished 13th in the Italian Cup. She had a lapse of concentration (her words) in her first round. Abby shot 16, 23 and 21 for a 60 of 75 targets

The Umbria Cup Trap event, also in Todi, starts on Aug., 26.

Thanks to the members of the forum and the shooting community, Abby is getting an opportunity of a lifetime. Thank-you all for your support!!

***UPDATE***

The Men have completed their match. One of Abby's training partners, Ryne Barfield of Sylvester, Ga., has WON the 2017 Italian Cup Trap championship!!

Ryne has had a busy summer. As a member of the World Cup team, Ryne was competing in Russia, came home for 3 days and then left with Coach Mike, Abby and the team for Todi, Italy. He will head back to Russia for another Cup competition this weekend.

I have to give Congratulations to Coach Mike Simpson of Bridge Creek Clays in Hartsfield, Ga., for a job well done training and preparing this team for competition

***Umbria Cup Update***

Yesterday and today, Abby competed in the Umbria Cup. It is also an ISSF sanctioned event. It is an Open, two day, 100 target event and there was prize money available for the professional shooters. After her "loss of concentration," Abby really focused. She shot 25 and 20 on Saturday and broke 24 and 23 today for a two day total of 92 of 100 targets.

Abby finished 4th.

I want to thank the members of this forum and the local shooting community for supporting Abby and making this possible. Thank-you

Here is the beautiful facility in Italy where the competitions were held
